In a strategic move, Miyoko’s Creamery, a US-based alternative-dairy brand, has appointed former Beyond Meat and Coca-Cola executive, Stuart Kronauge, as its new CEO. This leadership change comes after Jon Blair assumed the interim presidency of the company in February following the departure of founder Miyoko Schinner, which resulted in a legal dispute.
Prior to joining Miyoko’s Creamery, Kronauge held leadership positions at The Juice Plus+ Company and Beyond Meat. With her extensive experience in the food and beverage industry, including a 20-year tenure at The Coca-Cola Company, Kronauge is well-equipped to guide Miyoko’s Creamery into a new phase of growth.
In a statement, Kronauge expressed her enthusiasm for leading the renowned plant milk dairy brand and continuing its mission based on craft, compassion, conviviality, and courage. She is excited to contribute to the accessibility of plant-based products, aligning with her personal commitment to a plant-based lifestyle.
Miyoko’s Creamery, originally known as Miyoko’s Kitchen, was founded in 2014 in Pateluma, California. The brand initially focused on producing plant-based organic cheeses crafted from cashew nuts and later expanded its product portfolio to include butter and cream cheese.
In February, the company announced its separation from founder Miyoko Schinner due to its aspirations for future growth. This development led to a legal battle, which was subsequently resolved through a settlement reached in May. Miyoko’s Creamery and Schinner issued a joint statement on LinkedIn, confirming the resolution of all legal disputes between them.
The company acknowledges Kronauge’s decades of experience and expertise in the food and beverage industry. They believe she will drive the brand forward and enhance the accessibility of plant-based products in the market.
James Joaquin, co-founder of Obvious Ventures, one of the investors in Miyoko’s Creamery, expressed confidence in Kronauge’s ability to lead the brand’s next chapter. He praised her passion, operational skills, and mission-oriented approach, which align well with the innovative and disruptive nature of the industry.
