Hevo Group, a Spanish egg supplier supported by Brazil’s Global Eggs, has revealed its latest acquisition in Germany.

The company has acquired Müritz, a supplier to German retailers such as Edeka. The exact financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.

Hevo stated that this acquisition signifies its official entry into the German market, increasing its production capacity to approximately 180 million dozen eggs annually. The company did not reveal its existing capacity.

Müritz, located 150 kilometers north of Berlin, operates six farms that produce organic and free-range eggs, as confirmed by Hevo Group.

“This acquisition is integral to Hevo Group’s ongoing growth strategy, which seeks to establish a strong European production platform and enhance ties with key food retail players across Europe,” the company stated.

CEO André Baldissera commented, “In an increasingly unpredictable environment, we believe the most effective approach is to cultivate a more resilient organization through greater geographical diversity, a robust production framework, and a long-term outlook.”

Hevo Group has been a part of Global Eggs, a company with operations spanning Brazil, Uruguay, the US, and Europe, since 2024.

Earlier in March, Global Eggs secured an agreement for private-equity firm Warburg Pincus to invest up to $1 billion in the multinational egg supplier. Warburg Pincus noted that this investment valued Global Eggs at approximately $8 billion.

In addition to its core business, Global Eggs includes Brazil’s Granja Faria and US supplier Hillandale Farms among its operations. The company acquired Hillandale Farms last year for $1.1 billion.

Moreover, the group has also strengthened its presence in Spain through the earlier acquisition of the El Granjero egg company.
