Meati Foods confidently aims to achieve its $1bn sales target by 2025, despite the slowdown in demand for alternative-protein products in the US.

The Boulder, Colorado-based business, which recently secured additional funding for its Series C round, has expanded its distribution channels by introducing a direct-to-consumer service to complement its retail listings in Sprouts, Whole Foods Market, and Meijer.

In addition to retail, Meati Foods’ mycelium-based meat-free products, including chicken breast, breaded chicken cutlets, steak, and seasoned carne asada steak, are now available in thousands of foodservice locations. CEO Tyler Huggins emphasized the high demand and expressed confidence in reaching the $1bn target as previously announced by President Scott Tassani in the prior year.

Meati Foods is rapidly building its commercial platform and aggressively positioning itself for unprecedented growth. The company previously announced job cuts but did not provide further details.
