Mama’s Creations Acquires Crown Meat Business

Mama's Creations Acquires Crown Meat Business Food and Beverage Business

US-based Mama’s Creations has finalized an acquisition of Crown I Enterprises, a local manufacturer specializing in meat products and ready-to-eat meals.

This agreement allows Mama’s Creations to obtain “substantially all” of Crown’s assets from Sysco Corporation, a prominent player in the foodservice sector.

The fresh deli prepared foods processor will invest $17.5 million in cash to acquire the group. This acquisition will be partially financed through an amended and restated $27.4 million senior secured credit facility with M&T Bank, Mama’s Creations’ existing lender.

Crown is expected to contribute approximately $56 million in profitable annual revenue, based on the financial results for the year ending June 28. Consequently, this strategic move is projected to enhance Mama’s Creations’ sales base by nearly 40%, significantly broadening its reach into new and strategic accounts.

In a statement, Mama’s Creations emphasized: “Overall, this strategic combination bolsters Mama’s position as a one-stop-shop deli solutions platform with a robust poultry, beef and prepared foods production footprint and accelerates the company’s progress toward its goal of reaching $1 billion in annual revenue by 2030.”

Moreover, Mama’s Creations will acquire a recently upgraded 42,000-square-foot production facility in Bay Shore, New York, featuring “significant” additional grill capacity on equipment they already utilize. Around 200 employees from Crown will also transition to Mama’s Creations as part of this deal. Notably, Crown’s Bay Shore location is situated about 10 miles from Mama’s Farmingdale site.

Formerly known as MamaMancini’s Holdings, Mama’s Creations rebranded in August 2023 to reflect its evolution into a national provider of deli-prepared foods. The company has made strides in growth through acquisitions, previously acquiring T&L Creative Salads and Olive Branch, both based in New York, in 2021. In 2022, it bought a minority stake in New Jersey’s Chef Inspirational Foods, known for prepared foods such as salads and meals.

Looking ahead, Mama’s Creations anticipates achieving at least 20% revenue growth in the second quarter of fiscal 2026, targeting $34 million. Additionally, net income is projected to reach a minimum of $1.2 million, an increase from $1.1 million during the same quarter last year.
