The launch marks a strategic move by the well-known frozen treats brand as it explores a new format to capitalize on the rising demand for snacking ice cream, a segment projected to expand by 6.7% over the next three years (Euromonitor). This aligns with ongoing food and beverage industry trends towards convenient and indulgent snack options.

The new Ben & Jerry’s cookie dough ice cream sandwich will be available in both single and four-pack formats. Each unit features two soft vanilla-and-cocoa swirled cookies enveloping a smooth vanilla ice cream filled with cookie dough chunks, showcasing innovation in food processing technology.

In terms of sustainability, the brand emphasizes that the new product utilizes Fairtrade Certified sugar, vanilla, and cocoa, along with eggs sourced from free-range hens, aligning with food and drink sustainability practices.

Lucy McManus, UK brand manager for Ben & Jerry’s, expressed her excitement about the launch: “We’re delighted to bring our new Cookie Dough Ice Cream Sandwich to Ben & Jerry’s fans across the country, giving them more ways to enjoy their favourite flavour.

“From a sweet snack at home to an on-the-go indulgence, there was only one way we could top our most-loved Cookie Dough and that was by sandwiching it!”

The Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough Ice Cream Sandwich 4 Pack (68ml x 4) will hit shelves in Asda and Morrisons starting this month (January 2025) at an RRP of £5. Additionally, the Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough Ice Cream Sandwich (120ml) will be available nationwide at an RRP of £2.50, reflecting effective food and drink marketing strategies.

This product innovation follows the recent launch of two new SKUs inspired by bakery treats—Ben & Jerry’s Churrifically Churros-y and Ben & Jerry’s Strawberry Doughnut-eee—introduced just last month, showcasing the brand’s adaptability in responding to food and drink consumer trends.
