VILSA-BRUNNEN Otto Rodekohr GmbH, the first mineral water bottling plant to harness the benefits of Plasmax technology, is taking a significant step towards enhancing its product quality and ensuring long-lasting freshness for its premium beverages. By applying a wafer-thin, chemically pure glass coating on the inside wall of PET bottles, the family-owned business is setting new standards in the market.

Since 2021, all varieties of VILSA mineral water have been certified organic, meeting rigorous threshold values and adhering to the highest sustainability standards in the German mineral water market. The company is also proud to have achieved climate neutrality since 2021. Through active collaboration with local farmers and the implementation of sustainable measures in agriculture, VILSA contributes to the protection of soil and groundwater quality near its spring. This commitment to environmental preservation inspired the decision to adopt KHS Plasmax coating technology for all non-returnable containers used in bottling the VILSA brand.

FreshSafe PET, the innovative solution that combines the lightweight and durability of plastic containers with the superior barrier properties of glass bottles, plays a vital role in preserving the freshness and flavor stability of VILSA mineral water. By preventing oxygen pickup and carbon dioxide loss, this proven system extends the shelf life of the product.
