Linda McCartney Foods Targets Inclusive School Lunch Market with Vegan Dippers. Food and Beverage Business

Founded by Linda McCartney in the early 90s and currently owned by Hain Celestial Group, the brand is dedicated to expanding vegetarian and vegan food options for a broader audience.

In line with current food and beverage industry trends, this latest product launch will introduce vegan dippers, offering a modern twist on a classic child-friendly favourite specifically designed for school catering.

Rich in protein, these vegan dippers aim to enhance inclusive school menus without sacrificing “quality, taste or nutrition.”

Recent research underscores the importance of familiar formats, revealing that as many as 80% of parents support vegetarian school meals in recognizable varieties that children already relish.

Linda McCartney Foods emphasizes that it is essential for vegetarian and vegan-inclined parents that these ‘chicken-style’ dippers not only look appealing but also taste similar to their traditional counterparts. Notably, 69% of parents indicated that their child is likely to opt for these items at school.

“The research has shown that children are more likely to choose vegan or vegetarian options when they’re served in familiar formats they already enjoy. Our new Chicken Style Dippers deliver exactly that – a high-protein product that’s been developed specifically to appeal to children’s tastes,” stated Rebecca Fairbairn, marketing and strategy director at Linda McCartney Foods.

“For vegan and vegetarian options to be successful in schools, children need to genuinely enjoy them. We’ve created a dipper that kids will actually want to eat, which means better uptake for caterers, less waste, and more children benefiting from nutritious meat-free meals. As the original meat-free pioneer, Linda McCartney Foods remains a brand that caterers and families trust for taste and quality. These dippers give schools confidence that they can offer vegan options children will reach for first.”

These new dippers are now available in 8 x 200g foodservice packs and can be found nationwide through catering wholesalers.

Moreover, they join the established lineup of frozen products under the Linda McCartney Foods brand portfolio, which includes the newly launched Gluten Free Vegemince.
