PepsiCo Introduces Flavour Swap Range Featuring Three Exciting New Products. Food and Beverage Business

PepsiCo’s Flavour Swap initiative showcases some of the leading snacking brands in the food and beverage industry, merging them to create innovative combinations and distinct flavour profiles.

The partnerships featured in this launch include:

  • Lay’s Sweet Southern Heat Barbecue on Cheetos Crunchy
  • Ruffles Cheddar & Sour Cream on Doritos
  • Doritos Cool Ranch on Ruffles

Drawing from consumer insights and extensive R&D, this initiative stems from numerous combinations of flavours and brands, culminating in three new SKUs. This approach exemplifies the food manufacturing trends that are shaping the industry.

To elevate the launch, PepsiCo has collaborated with prominent figures such as pop star Madison Beer, popular sports YouTuber IShowSpeed, and the online comedy group Dude Perfect.

On the campaign, Beer stated, “When I’m on tour, Cheetos is one of my go-to snacks. It was fun to be part of the new Flavor Swap.” She added, “Sweet Southern Heat Barbeque on Cheetos Crunchy. It’s a little sweet, smoky and a bit spicy.”

The Dude Perfect team remarked, “At Dude Perfect, we’ve always been huge fans of Ruffles, but our crew is a bit of a house divided. Some of us go all-in for Cool Ranch Doritos, while others are loyal to Ruffles through and through.” They further explained, “For our stunt-loving crew, everything is about the unexpected, so teaming up with Ruffles for Doritos Cool Ranch on Ruffles just makes sense. This bold, tangy Cool Ranch flavour on that classic Ruffles crunch is as daring as our trick shots and the perfect snack for our group that lives for the game.”

In an exciting marketing strategy, Cheetos, Ruffles, and Doritos are launching special ‘Swap Drops’ on Instagram, offering select fans the chance to sample their Flavour Swap chips before they become available in the US market in mid-February.

This initiative builds on a range of innovative product developments (NPDs) released by PepsiCo brands during the festive season, including a limited edition ‘Gingerbread’ flavour of its flagship beverage, which highlights ongoing food and drink innovation.
