Italy-based ice-cream and frozen goods producer Sammontana has secured a €15m ($16.5m) grant to establish a new production line.
The state-backed Italian development bank, Cassa depositi e prestiti (CDP), has provided the funding for Sammontana to construct an ice-cream production line at its Colognola ai Colli site. This investment aims to increase production capacity and minimize the company’s environmental impact by reducing the use of primary raw materials.
Sammontana’s collaboration with SACE (the Italian export credit agency) and CDP signifies a significant milestone in sustainable development within the Italian market. Leonardo Bagnoli, Sammontana’s CEO, expresses enthusiasm, stating, “The deal consolidates our commitment for the future to create quality products capable of satisfying consumer needs and bringing joy to every home. We are delighted to have the support of SACE and CDP in achieving this, helping to generate a better future for everyone.”
Established in 1948, Sammontana operates three production plants in Italy and employs approximately 1,000 individuals. Furthermore, it maintains a network of over 200 dealers and distributors.
