Roquette, an ingredient company specializing in food and pharmaceuticals, has opened a new innovation center for food ingredients as part of its €4.5 million investment in research and development. The center, located in Lestrem, France, is one of six centers worldwide and aims to support food industry players in overcoming challenges and developing new, healthier, and more sustainable products. With a team of over 30 engineers, doctors, and technicians, the center offers technical and R&D support, cutting-edge equipment, labs, and scale-up testing. It focuses on various areas such as plant-based proteins, fibers, polyols, and starches and aims to foster innovation and accelerate the go-to-market process for new products. The facility also includes a sensory analysis laboratory and collaborative spaces, allowing pilot scale testing for different food applications. Roquette aims to be a “trusted partner” in the food industry and help meet the demand for innovative solutions globally.
