Around Noon, a rapidly growing food-to-go (FTG) manufacturer, has recently acquired a significant FTG business based in London. This acquisition has resulted in the formation of a larger group with 800 employees and more than £80 million in revenues annually.

The acquisition of The Soho Sandwich Company has boosted Around Noon’s headcount by over 300 employees, along with a new state-of-the-art production center located in North London and numerous blue-chip clients. The Soho Sandwich Company will continue its operations under its own brand within the Around Noon Group, catering to its multi-sector portfolio of customers spanning across foodservice, retail, events, and hospitality. Also, the company will continue to be led by its current MD, Daniel Silverston.

Gareth Chambers, CEO of Around Noon Foods, stated that this acquisition would cement the group’s status as a leading national supplier of premium FTG products. Chambers highlighted that his company had been impressed with The Soho Sandwich Company for some time, explaining that the move represented an incredible opportunity for both businesses due to the exceptional alignment in values and core purposes.

Howard Farquhar, Around Noon’s chairman, added that this acquisition is the third to transpire since he and Chambers completed the MBO in 2016, and it will enable Around Noon to continue growing, bringing the business closer to its ambitious £100 million revenue target. Farquhar also highlighted that this was a significant opportunity for The Soho Sandwich Company team and their existing client base.

Founded over 23 years ago as a small coffee shop located in North London, The Soho Sandwich Company has grown into a company that manufactures and distributes more than 15 million sandwiches annually to consumers across the UK and continues to service its long-standing customer base. According to Daniel Silverton, managing director of The Soho Sandwich Company, Around Noon is one of the most innovative and exciting FTG companies in the UK, making the opportunity to become part of the Around Noon Group an invaluable win for his business. Silverton also expressed that there are substantial synergies in terms of ambition and culture and believes that this move is incredibly advantageous for both his team and customers.

Around Noon, which was founded over 30 years ago in Newry, Northern Ireland, is presently one of the prominent FTG manufacturers in the UK. It produces a wide assortment of chilled, hot, frozen, and bakery products and operates across five manufacturing sites situated in the UK and Ireland.
