Spar, the licensed convenience store, has opened a new 1,342sqft store in Castletown, which was previously an independent Spar. The store will offer daily essential food and drink products and services. The new store has been refitted with the latest Spar designs which include eco-friendly refrigeration and eleven retained staff members.
The store’s features include a branded food-to-go area named CJ’s, a Costa Coffee machine, and a Calippo Slush machine, as well as an off licence section, news and magazines, grocery, chilled, and fresh food products. Additional services available at Spar Castletown include Lottery, Post Office, Paypoint, and an ATM.
Spar Castletown donated £500 to a local group, the Castletown Youth Club, on its opening day. Spar Scotland’s company owned stores operations director, Steven Irons, expressed his delight.
“We are really pleased to open a Spar store in the village of Castletown for residents to enjoy. Spar Castletown is positioned at the heart of the community, and we are sure everyone in the area will enjoy the benefits of our investment. We have made considerable improvements to the in-store shopping experience, and we hope the great range of quality products and services will serve the area well for many years to come.”
Spar Scotland has undertaken a refurbishment programme across its company owned store estate with many stores already benefiting from the work undertaken. Castletown is a popular tourist location and visitors to the area can now enjoy shopping in this new Spar store.
