BioPak Unveils Eco-Friendly Beer BioCups for Outdoor Venues alternatives, beer, BioCups, BioPak, outdoor venues, sustainable Food and Beverage Business

Global sustainable packaging company BioPak has launched an innovative compostable Beer BioCup range tailored for the outdoor venue and events sector.

Specifically designed for outdoor venues, stadiums, events, clubs, and pubs that have yet to adopt reusable cup systems, BioPak’s Beer BioCups present a superior alternative to the vast quantity of disposable cups made from conventional plastic commonly used in these settings.

On any given AFL game day, it is estimated that between 50,000 and 80,000 beer cups are utilized, while cricket match days witness an estimated usage of around 20,000 to 50,000 beer cups.

The newly introduced Beer BioCups adhere to single-use plastic bans, aligning with guidelines across all states and territories in Australia. These cups are constructed from FSC certified paper and are coated with plant-based bioplastic, rather than traditional plastic sourced from fossil fuels.

Trevor Rumble, BioPak’s Product & Innovations Director, stated that the development of these cups stems from BioPak’s broader commitment to sustainability, which extends beyond merely creating compostable products.

“We are dedicated to educating consumers and businesses about the importance of reducing single-use plastics and transitioning to compostable alternatives,” Rumble explained.

By offering Beer BioCups, BioPak aspires to empower venues and event organizers to positively impact the environment while ensuring an enjoyable experience when savoring a refreshing beverage.

To promote circularity, Beer BioCups collected at participating venues post-event are diverted from landfills and transformed into nutrient-rich compost through Compost Connect, a non-profit, brand-agnostic platform dedicated to providing effective solutions for compostable products and food waste.

The Beer BioCups are certified to AS4736 industrial composting standards, offering a reliable compostable alternative to conventional plastic. Available in 420ml / 14oz and 600ml / 20oz sizes, BioPak’s Beer BioCups are now ready to enhance your food and beverage packaging strategy.
