Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I is extending the Lucozade Energy portfolio with Lucozade Energy Sherbet Twist Zero Sugar, a vibrant new flavour designed to deliver a refreshing, tangy taste.

The latest variant will be available through grocery and convenience retailers from 28 September. It will launch in 500ml price-marked packs and standard packs, while the 900ml bottle will initially be exclusive to Tesco.

The introduction comes as Lucozade Energy continues to perform strongly. The brand recorded £395.3m in value sales during the past year, selling 211.4 million units and achieving 2.6% year-on-year value growth [Nielsen, Total Coverage, Lucozade Energy, 52 w/e 25 July 2026].

New flavour launches have helped maintain this momentum. Lucozade Energy Grafruitti, which returned to the range permanently earlier this year following strong consumer demand, has delivered £8.8m in value sales since its launch [NIQ Scantrack Total Coverage 22we w/e 22.08.2026 (weeks since launch from 28.03.2026].

Adrian O’Brien, brand director for Lucozade, comments: “Sherbet Twist is all about bringing something fun and unexpected to shoppers while staying true to the great taste and refreshment people expect from the Lucozade brand. We know consumers are actively looking for new and exciting flavour experiences, particularly within zero sugar.

Sherbet Twist gives retailers a fresh way to engage shoppers, drive trial and recruit new consumers into the category. It’s a drink that stands out on shelf and taps into the nostalgic taste trend we continue to see resonate.”

The launch reflects wider food and beverage industry trends, including demand for distinctive flavours, zero-sugar options and memorable brand experiences. These food and drink consumer trends are influencing food and drink industry innovation, as manufacturers respond with new products and formats.

SBF GB&I is also introducing additional formats across several of its best-selling beverages this autumn. Following the successful permanent return of Lucozade Energy Grafruitti, the flavour is now available in a new 900ml price-marked pack and a standard 500ml four-pack. Lucozade Energy Zero Sugar Pink Lemonade has also been introduced in a 900ml standard bottle, with every new SKU available now.

As food manufacturing trends, food processing technology and food distribution trends continue to shape the sector, brands are also assessing food and drink packaging, food and drink marketing, food and drink sustainability and food and drink regulations when planning future launches.
