US spice and seasoning producer Dan-O’s Seasoning has secured a $25m investment from private-equity firm The Newcastle Network as it prepares to broaden distribution and accelerate growth.
The Kentucky-based company did not disclose whether The Newcastle Network acquired a stake, nor did it provide details of the transaction structure or its total capital raised to date, when contacted by Just Food.
Founder Dan Oliver and CEO Phillip Crosby will remain responsible for managing the business.
Oliver established Dan-O’s in 2015. Its portfolio currently includes dry seasonings, specialist cheese-infused toppings and blended products, with the brand now expanding into additional food categories.
A spokesperson said the investment would fund the company’s “next chapter of growth”. The capital will support the introduction of new product formats and efforts to increase availability across retail channels and e-commerce.
Dan-O’s products are currently sold through major US retailers such as Walmart, Kroger and Publix. The company also distributes through Amazon and its direct-to-consumer website.
The brand has already started moving beyond its core dry seasoning range. Earlier this year, it entered the meal-starter and dip-mix segments with products including Dan-O’s Chili and Dan-O’s Tac-O seasoning packets.
Further launches are planned, with the company referring to upcoming products as “including formats fans won’t see coming”. It did not provide additional information about the pipeline.
Dan-O’s uses co-manufacturers for production and said it intends to continue working with partners that can “scale with the brand”.
The investment represents The Newcastle Network’s first transaction in the food industry. Managing partner Chris Casgar said: “Dan has built far more than a seasoning company. He’s created a platform that inspires millions of home cooks to experiment, create and enjoy cooking more.
“That’s rare, it’s incredibly difficult to replicate and it’s exactly the kind of business we’re looking to back as we build our food portfolio. The Dan-O’s investment is just the beginning.”
Dan-O’s did not reveal its annual net sales, profitability or forecasts for 2026.
