Pearse Lyons Distillery, a family-owned distillery based in Dublin, renowned for its innovation, heritage, and sustainability, is set to expand into the United Kingdom in collaboration with JBE Imports. This strategic partnership signifies a crucial step in the brand’s global growth strategy, solidifying its presence in both European and U.S. markets.

The official UK launch will take place at the upcoming Bar Convent London (BCB London) from June 30 to July 1. This premier international trade show showcases the finest in hospitality and the drinks industry. With over 20 years of expertise in premium brand development, JBE Imports will play a vital role in introducing Pearse Lyons’ unique Irish spirits to a broader audience while preserving the quality and passion associated with the brand.

“This is more than just market expansion,” remarked Conor Ryan, Head of Production Operations at Pearse Lyons Distillery. “It’s about finding partners who align with our values and vision, and JBE Imports is exactly that. We’re excited to share the Pearse Lyons story with more people across the UK and beyond.”

Pearse Lyons Distillery envisions further growth in other emerging markets, focusing on storytelling and highlighting its distinctive origins to create memorable experiences for partners. Though relatively young, the distillery evokes a significant part of Ireland’s history in a meaningful way.

Strategic Global Growth and Enhanced Visitor Experiences

As part of its international vision, Pearse Lyons Distillery has expanded its export team to enhance market development throughout Europe and beyond. This dedicated team allows for a sharper focus on emerging opportunities while fortifying relationships in key export markets.

With the U.S. representing approximately 40% of global Irish whiskey exports, Pearse Lyons is strengthening its American foothold through its sister distillery, Town Branch Distillery, located in Lexington, Kentucky. By reallocating resources towards sustainable spirits development, the brand ensures consistent and dedicated support for U.S. partners and consumers. This strategy also positions Pearse Lyons to effectively manage potential challenges, such as impending tariffs, through a more integrated sales and marketing approach.

Looking ahead, the distillery anticipates a wave of product innovations slated for 2025 and 2026 to accompany its planned expansions, exciting both existing and new partners. This innovation strategy will emphasize sustainability and agriculture, facilitating access to estate-grown grain expressions, upcycled barrel finishes, and adherence to Bord Bia’s Origin Green programme, where the distillery has earned Gold Membership for three consecutive years.

Pearse Lyons Distillery is also committed to enhancing its on-site visitor experience, providing an immersive journey through the world of Irish spirits. Guests can look forward to:

  • The Pearse Irish Whiskey Blending Experience: Craft your own blend alongside the distillery’s expert team.
  • The Gin School at Pearse Lyons Distillery: Participate in a creative botanical distilling session for gin enthusiasts.
  • The Reopening of Pearse’s Place: Enjoy an intimate cocktail experience at the distillery’s exclusive speakeasy-style bar.
  • Located near the Camino de Santiago, St. James Church is home to Pearse Lyons Distillery, a historic starting point for this iconic pilgrimage.

Pearse Lyons Distillery is Dublin’s sole independently family-owned distillery, situated in the former St. James Church in the heart of the Liberties district. This award-winning boutique distillery produces Pearse Irish Whiskey and various other spirits. Founded by the late Dr. Pearse Lyons, a master brewer and whiskey innovator, the distillery commenced distillation in 2012 at its brewery and officially opened after renovations in 2017.
