This month, Jones has officially joined the global snacking powerhouse, pladis Global, where he will oversee quality and food safety for the entire organization.

With extensive experience in the food and drink industry, Jones previously held the position of Technical Director at Innocent Drinks from September 2022 until January 2024. Before that, he served as the Interim Director for Quality, Safety, and Environment at Britvic, now known as Carlsberg Britvic.

In addition to his new role at pladis, Jones continues to act as the Managing Director of RQM Associates, a consultancy firm where he has contributed since July 2009.

In a LinkedIn post regarding his new position, he expressed: “Delighted to announce that I have just started an interim role as Vice President Quality and Food Safety at pladis Global.”

“[I am] really excited about the opportunity to work with such a great company with so many iconic brands around the globe. I already know some great people at pladis from prior roles and I am really looking forward to working with many more.”

“This week, I am lucky enough to be meeting with the North American team and visiting the plants in Reading and Big Flats.”

Pladis, renowned for its brands such as McVitie’s, GODIVA, Jacob’s, Carr’s, and Ülker, did not disclose additional details about Jones’s appointment when approached by Food Manufacture.

This announcement follows the recent resignation of former Pladis CEO Salman Amin, who stepped down for personal reasons just two months ago.

In the interim, Chief Financial Officer Sridhar Ramamurthy and Managing Director for Europe and Developing Markets Tim Brett have taken temporary control of operations. Furthermore, last month, Pladis revealed that David Murray, its former UK and Ireland head, would transition into the newly established role of Global Chief Commercial Officer. Consequently, Mete Buyurgan, the previous leader of the Turkish, Eastern Europe, and Central Asian division, has taken over his responsibilities in the UK and Ireland.
