Yangi develops and provides machine platforms that facilitate the shift towards sustainable packaging solutions, specifically in the area of next-generation fibre packaging at scale.

As the demand for alternatives to plastic rises, the packaging industry increasingly seeks solutions that integrate sustainability and high industrial performance. At Interpack 2026, Yangi will showcase how this transition is transitioning into a practical reality.

Located at the Mondini stand in Hall 5, Stand F24, Yangi will feature the fibre-based MAP tray. This product exemplifies the potential of engineered fibre, utilizing Yangi’s proprietary technology platform. Designed for applications such as fresh meat, poultry, fish, and ready meals, the tray proves that dry forming can fulfill the functional and operational needs of modern food and drink packaging.

“This demonstrates what our Cellera technology enables,” said Anna Altner, founder of Yangi (inset in picture above). “We are proving that fiber-based packaging can meet industrial performance requirements and scale.”

While Wet pulp aims for sustainability, it is energy-intensive and water-consuming. On the other hand, paper thermoforming is limited in its geometric capabilities. Both technologies lag behind plastics in critical areas, especially concerning deep, rigid, and highly functional packaging.

Yangi’s Dry-forming Cellera technology directly addresses these challenges. It empowers fibre-based packaging with enhanced design flexibility, strength, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, aligning with current food and drink consumer trends.

Moreover, Yangi’s FiberIQ system offers precise control over fibre distribution and material architecture. This innovation transforms fibre into a programmable material system, delivering consistent and repeatable performance. Combined with the Cellera platform, which entirely eliminates the water process and enhances production efficiency, the technology ensures stable industrial output with rapid cycle times of just 4 seconds.

The MAP tray is engineered for compatibility with high-speed tray sealing systems. It supports modified atmosphere packaging while preserving structural integrity across chilled, frozen, and heated environments. This combination of reliable performance and premium surface quality enables packaging producers and brands to transition from plastic without sacrificing efficiency or visual appeal.
