SodaStream, a prominent player in the food and drink packaging industry, has selected the SIG Dome 500ml carton bottle for its newly launched Apple Schorlen-Mix and Grape Schorlen-Mix syrups. This initiative signifies SodaStream’s entry into the fruit Schorlen category while utilizing aseptic carton packs for the first time, highlighting the brand’s ongoing commitment to sustainable packaging solutions.

The SIG Dome carton bottle uniquely merges the advantages of two packaging worlds. It delivers the protective, environmental, and logistical benefits of a carton pack while offering the convenience of a bottle, thanks to its lightweight design and central closure.

Viktoria Uhl-Pochman, Head of Sales Austria & Switzerland at SIG: “We are delighted to have gained another strong partner for our packaging solutions: SodaStream. We are convinced that SodaStream spritzers in SIG Dome have the potential to offer consumers a unique and value-adding experience to create their SodaStream drinks even more responsibly.”

Emphasizing mindful consumption, SodaStream has established its reputation on a circular eco-system that includes sparkling water makers, flavor syrups, and refillable CO₂ cylinders. This allows consumers to craft sparkling beverages at home, effectively reducing reliance on single-use plastic bottles. The introduction of fruit Schorlen-Mix expands SodaStream’s range of flavors, and by opting for aseptic carton packs, the brand reinforces its dedication to sustainable, resource-efficient practices.

Dennis Griebling, Senior Product Manager at SodaStream: “According to a recent study we conducted together with YouGov and published in our Beverage Compass (“Getränkekompass”)1, fruit Schorlen are the second most popular soft drink among Germans, right after Cola. We now serve this segment with Mix for fruit Schorlen in carton packs, which also score points for their good eco profile.”

Designed with recycling in mind, SIG Dome is primarily constructed from FSC™-certified paperboard and manufactured using 100% renewable electricity. The high proportion of forest-based renewable material, coupled with a resource-efficient and space-saving design, provides significant environmental benefits compared to alternative food and drink packaging options like plastic bottles. By choosing SIG Dome, SodaStream is not only entering a new market segment but is also exemplifying how brands can advance sustainability in their operations.
