SIG has successfully finalized contracts to sell nine filling lines during its participation in Gulfood Manufacturing 2025, which took place from November 4 to 6 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. These agreements underscore SIG’s dedication to delivering innovative food and drink packaging solutions that support the growth and sustainability objectives of the food and beverage industry.
With SIG’s advanced aseptic packaging solutions, manufacturers can achieve long shelf life without the need for refrigeration or preservatives. Additionally, their flexible filling technology empowers producers to accommodate a diverse range of formats and volumes, enhancing overall operational efficiency.
During the event, SIG earned the accolade for Best Packaging Innovation for its SIG Terra Alu-free + Full barrier packaging material. This pioneering solution eliminates the aluminum layer from full-barrier aseptic cartons, contributing to a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions by up to 61%*, while maintaining an impressive shelf life of up to 12 months and compatibility with SIG’s existing filling lines.
Abdelghany Eladib, President & General Manager, India, Middle East and Africa at SIG stated: “We are pleased to announce the successful sale of nine filling lines at Gulfood Manufacturing, reflecting the strong demand for our sustainable and efficient packaging solutions. The Best Packaging Innovation award for the SIG Terra Alu-free + Full barrier further validates our commitment to innovating and delivering high-performance solutions that meet the evolving needs of the food and beverage industry.”
This year, SIG’s booth was designed to illustrate the entire customer journey, highlighting how the company adds value through an end-to-end approach. It featured three core zones: SIG Café, showcasing category and channel innovations; SIG Supermarket, displaying both global and regional assortments across aseptic cartons, spouted pouches, and bag-in-box solutions; and SIG On-the-Go, focusing on convenience formats and modern lifestyle applications. These zones exemplified how SIG’s solutions are developed with the consumer at the forefront, from concept to final product.
During Gulfood Manufacturing 2025, SIG also conducted SIG Talks, a series of insightful discussions covering pivotal industry topics relevant to their full portfolio. These talks delivered valuable insights from global and regional experts, customers, and partners, discussing a variety of subjects including health trends and affordable proteins, sustainability and circularity, especially regarding alu-layer-free solutions, foodservice innovations, aseptic solutions for drinkable yogurt, digital advancements, and the growth potential of aseptic products in Western Africa.
Moreover, SIG has recently collaborated with Nutrition from Water (NXW) to create integrated product concepts that merge algae-based protein beverages with advanced aseptic packaging. This initiative aims to bridge the nutrition gap in rapidly developing economies by providing communities with essential protein-rich nutrition where it is most needed. As part of this partnership, SIG and NXW showcased a sample of their innovative product solutions at Gulfood Manufacturing 2025.
