SIG is extending its advanced SIG Neo aseptic carton filling platform with two new machines designed to help food and beverage manufacturers increase production capacity, improve flexibility and respond to evolving food and beverage industry trends without expanding their facilities.
The new SIG Neo XSlim 32 Aseptic, developed for single-serve cartons, and SIG Neo Midi 15 Aseptic, designed for multi-serve formats, combine high-speed filling with compact footprints. The SIG Neo XSlim 32 Aseptic produces up to 32,000 SIG XSlimBloc cartons per hour across nine pack sizes. Meanwhile, the SIG Neo Midi 15 Aseptic fills up to 15,000 SIG MidiBloc or SIG MidiFit cartons per hour, with three available pack sizes for each format. Compared with standard machines, both systems increase overall capacity and output per square meter by one-third, while retaining rapid format and pack-size changeovers.
“Many food & beverage producers have reached the physical limits of their existing plants. SIG Neo filling machines deliver highest output per sqm in the industry and therefore add capacity to our customer’s factories and not buildings,” said Christoph Wegener, Chief Markets Officer at SIG.
Built around SIG’s sleeve-based carton technology and open-sleeve filling process, the SIG Neo XSlim 32 Aseptic supports as many as nine single-serve pack sizes on one machine. The SIG Neo Midi 15 Aseptic accommodates both SIG MidiBloc and SIG MidiFit formats, with three multi-serve sizes available for each. Production teams can move between pack sizes and formats in under 15 minutes without replacing machine components. Because the equipment maintains the compact footprint associated with SIG’s standard filling systems, manufacturers can achieve faster SKU changes, minimize downtime and reduce capital expenditure while responding more effectively to food and drink consumer trends.
Both machines achieve a waste rate below 0.5% and incorporate digital tools that support more efficient operations. They also lower Total Filling Costs compared with SIG’s standard filling equipment for the same carton formats. These capabilities support broader food manufacturing trends focused on productivity, resource efficiency and smarter food processing technology.
The latest SIG Neo systems also feature the advanced SIG Neo HMI (Human-Machine Interface), which provides intuitive machine control and actionable performance information. SIG Neo Shield improves sterile airflow protection during bottom sealing and pre-folding, removing up to 95% of airborne particles. Together, these developments support reliable aseptic production while aligning with priorities across food and drink sustainability, food and drink packaging and modern food and drink regulations.
“The latest additions to our SIG Neo platform demonstrate how innovation can translate directly into operational value,” said Gavin Steiner, Chief Technology Officer at SIG. “By combining speed, flexibility, advanced digital capabilities and aseptic excellence, we have created filling solutions that not only increase productivity but also simplify day-to-day operations.”
By combining compact equipment, high throughput and flexible packaging production, the expanded platform reflects the direction of food and drink industry innovation. It also gives producers greater agility as food distribution trends and food and drink marketing strategies continue to evolve.
