Sensei Farms is proud to announce the launch of new packaging for its line of leafy greens and salad mixes, a crucial step towards a more sustainable future for our food supply. The innovative design combines functionality and food safety, while also being eco-friendly and visually appealing, setting it apart from traditional plastic clamshells.
According to Jessica Vasisht, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Sensei Farms, “We are committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation in every aspect of our products. This dedication has led us to develop a package that not only showcases the superior quality of our produce but also reduces plastic usage by 90% compared to our previous packaging.”
The new design offers 360-degree visibility of the product through see-through panels on the paperboard tray, along with convenient features like perforated panels for easy breakdown and a removable liner for recyclability. A “peel and reseal” closure ensures product freshness and ease of storage, making it a convenient choice for consumers. The eye-catching design seamlessly integrates into retail displays and distinguishes itself from other plastic alternatives.
Sensei Farms is committed to offering these sustainable packaging solutions without imposing additional costs on retailers and consumers. As Ms. Vasisht explains, “We understand that eco-friendly options can often come at a premium, so we have worked to eliminate this barrier with our new packaging. This marks a significant advancement in our industry and is just the beginning of what we have in store.”
The newly packaged products are now available at select Albertsons stores in the US Mid-Atlantic region under the Acme and Safeway banners, as well as at major grocery outlets in Hawaii starting in mid-Q3 2024.
