From September 23-25, 2025, Sappi Europe will showcase its most extensive range of sustainable flexible packaging solutions at FACHPACK in Nuremberg, Germany. Among the highlights, Sappi will feature Guard Pro OHS and introduce Guard Pro OMH and Guard Duo—barrier papers specifically designed to address the packaging needs of food and drink products, particularly in confectionery applications such as chocolate. This initiative underscores Sappi’s commitment to advancing “Future-Proof Paper Packaging.”
Guard Pro OHS Takes Center Stage in Flexible Packaging
As the cornerstone of Sappi’s presence at FACHPACK, its flexible packaging portfolio presents one of the industry’s most versatile collections of recyclable, mono-material papers. Sappi has strategically categorized its offerings into three segments to cater to various market demands.
The SEAL range features heat-sealable papers suitable for both food and non-food primary and secondary packaging applications. These recyclable options provide excellent heat sealability and print quality and consist of Seal (Silk, Silk G) and Seal Light (Natural, Gloss). The GUARD range delivers crucial barrier protection against water vapor, grease, and mineral oil, offering products with or without heat-sealability. Variants include Guard M, Guard MS, Guard Duo, and Guard Twist, tailored for items such as baking powder, pasta, rice, cereals, confections, chocolate, and tea.
Furthermore, the GUARD PRO range, which includes Guard Pro OHS, Guard Pro OHG, AvantGuard, and the forthcoming Guard Pro OMH, represents Sappi’s most sophisticated high-barrier papers. They offer exceptional protection against oxygen, water vapor, grease, and MOSH/MOAH, with options available for heat-sealability. At FACHPACK 2025, Sappi will promote Guard Pro OHS in both Gloss and Natural (uncoated) finishes, marking its full commercial availability. Additionally, attendees can expect the launch of the new Guard Pro OMH high-barrier paper, designed for products needing optimal barrier properties, including various chocolate products, powdered coffee additives, seasonings, and cheese.
Expansive Portfolio Meets Evolving Market Needs

Additionally, wet glue label papers, including Parade Label Pro and Parade Label WS ranges for the food and beverage sector, will round out Sappi’s extensive display.

All Sappi papers are produced from renewable resources, recyclable in the paper waste stream as mono-materials, and suitable for direct food contact. The entire collection is available as FSC Mix Credit (FSC™-C015022) or 100% PEFC certified (PEFC/07-32-76) upon request, reinforcing Sappi’s dedication to sustainable forest management.
