Independent packaging-line integrator Autopack has commissioned a second, faster sauce packaging line for P&B (Foods) Ltd. The installation raises production capability to as many as 200 bottles per minute, supporting the manufacturer as demand continues to grow.

Delivered as a turnkey solution, the new line incorporates a bottle unscrambler, rotary net-weight filler, capper block and rotary wraparound labeller. The project marks another stage in a partnership established in 2023, which has already produced multiple automation and manufacturing improvements across P&B (Foods)’ sauce and edible-oil operations.

Jonathon Stewart, UK Sales Director at Autopack, said: “This growth story is a great example of how packaging automation can evolve alongside a manufacturer’s ambitions. We’ve worked closely with the P&B (Foods) team over a number of years, supporting them as volumes have increased and helping them remove bottlenecks through targeted investment in higher-capacity equipment.

“The new high-speed sauce line provides the additional throughput they need while maintaining the levels of reliability and product quality required in a competitive food market.”

With P&B (Foods) experiencing sustained production growth, Autopack introduced additional automation to increase output and minimise manual handling throughout the sauce packaging process. The investment reflects wider food manufacturing trends, in which manufacturers are adopting advanced systems to improve efficiency, consistency and scalability.

Autopack has also completed several other projects for P&B (Foods), including solutions for edible oils and specialist filling applications. Together, these installations have expanded the company’s manufacturing capabilities and improved operational performance. They also demonstrate how food processing technology can support long-term capacity planning in response to changing food and drink consumer trends.

Lukasz Szwarczak, Production Manager from P&B (Foods), said: “One of the most rewarding aspects of this project has been seeing how the partnership has developed over time. Each investment has been made for a clear operational reason, whether increasing capacity, improving automation or supporting business growth.

“We chose Autopack because of its extensive experience in sauces, edible oils and other viscous product applications, as well as its ability to provide anything from individual machines to complete turnkey lines.”

The latest installation provides the additional capacity P&B (Foods) needs to pursue further expansion. It also illustrates how phased automation can help food manufacturers respond to evolving production requirements while protecting efficiency, flexibility and product integrity. As food and beverage industry trends continue to influence investment decisions, integrated packaging systems remain an important part of food and drink industry innovation, alongside developments in food distribution trends, food and drink packaging, food and drink sustainability, food and drink regulations and food and drink marketing.
