Yorkshire Packaging Systems (YPS) has supplied new automated shrink wrapping equipment to Panesar Foods as the manufacturer expands production at its West Midlands facility. The repeat investment reflects Panesar Foods’ confidence in YPS machinery and the company’s in-house engineering support.
Founded in 1992, Panesar Foods produces spices and sauces for a broad customer base and manufactures approximately 12,000 tonnes of product per year across more than 750 SKUs. In October 2024, Panesar Foods became part of Paulig, following Paulig’s acquisition of the UK-based manufacturer. The two companies had already collaborated for 17 years prior to the acquisition, which supports Paulig’s ambition to strengthen its position in the World Foods category and accelerate international growth. Today, Panesar Foods continues to expand under Paulig’s ownership, prompting investment in high-performance, flexible packaging solutions.
YPS sleeve sealers deliver speed, flexibility and fast changeovers
To meet increasing demand, Panesar Foods installed inline and side-feed sleeve sealers from YPS to wrap trays of curry sauce jars. With a high-mix production environment and frequent SKU changes, fast and simple changeovers were a critical requirement when selecting new equipment.
The YPS shrink wrapping lines allow operators to switch efficiently between different product formats and tray sizes, reducing downtime and maximising throughput. This flexibility ensures production can keep pace with customer demand while maintaining consistent pack quality.
Machine reliability was another key factor in Panesar Foods’ decision to return to YPS. The site already operates YPS equipment and has built up extensive experience of its robust design and dependable performance in a demanding production environment.
As volumes continue to grow, consistent uptime and repeatable performance are essential. The new YPS sleeve sealers provide the reliability required to support continuous operation and long-term production planning.
Engineering-led installation, training and ongoing support
Beyond the machinery itself, Panesar Foods highlighted YPS’ in-house engineering capability as a major reason for the repeat order. The project was delivered through an engineer-led installation, ensuring smooth integration with existing lines and minimal disruption to production.
YPS also provided comprehensive operator training and continues to offer responsive technical support, giving Panesar Foods confidence that expertise is always available when required.
