Tereos, a key player in the global sugar, alcohol, and starch market, has unveiled its new Customer Innovation Centre in Aalst, Belgium. This state-of-the-art facility aims to foster innovation and enhance collaboration with customers by providing a wide range of new services. The centre serves as a central hub for customer support, showcasing specialized teams dedicated to various industries such as food, industry, paper & cardboard, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.

With newly established laboratories tailored to each sector, a cutting-edge demonstration kitchen, and advanced analytical technologies, the facility is well-equipped to meet the evolving demands of the market. Michel Flambeau, Tereos’ Innovation Centre Director, emphasizes the commitment to providing solutions that align with higher nutritional standards by leveraging their diverse product portfolio.

Marion Hoff, Tereos’ Sales Director for Europe, highlights the importance of adaptation and differentiation in a constantly evolving marketplace. The investment made in the Innovation Centre underscores Tereos’ dedication to innovation and product development, allowing customers to stay ahead of the curve.

The Customer Innovation Centre at Tereos delivers around 70 projects annually, serving nearly 150 customers and holding 300 active patents. Services offered include formulation to boost fibre content, product development workshops, consulting, technical support, training, and analytical testing. These services aim to enhance product quality, taste, and nutritional value, meeting the rising consumer demand for healthier and more sustainable products.

Tereos’ team of experts, supported by a network of 50 scientists, is committed to helping customers innovate and create food and drink products that are not only appealing but also environmentally sustainable.
