Leading food company Moy Park has achieved a significant milestone in its sustainable packaging strategy, reducing its overall food and drink packaging by 10% in the last 12 months.
This achievement is a result of the company’s proactive “Remove, Reduce, Recycle, and Research” strategy, which aims to consistently decrease overall food and drink packaging by 5% annually, while also increasing the percentage of recyclable packaging by 5%.
Collaborating with supply chain partners and driving innovation across the business has been instrumental in reaching this impressive milestone. Initiatives have focused on eliminating unnecessary plastic components, minimizing the plastic that remains, developing recyclable options, and adopting plastics that incorporate recycled content.
Matt Harris, Head of Packaging at Moy Park stated, “Sustainable packaging plays a crucial role in our journey to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2040, and we have set ambitious targets to deliver tangible results for our customers and consumers.
