KAPAG, together with its sister company Oppboga, invites visitors to its stands at London Packaging Week (booth H36) this autumn. The event brings together premium packaging companies who showcase innovative materials to brand owners.
In the bustling retail environment, packaging plays a crucial role in protecting valuable goods while also serving as a powerful medium for selling these products to consumers.
Mr. Alexander Meyer, managing owner of KAPAG, highlights the importance of tangible experiences in today’s fast-paced digital age. He states, “Our paperboards not only encourage consumers to touch the packaging but also showcase the true craftsmanship involved in creating such appealing packaging through design, print, embossing, and converting processes.”
KAPAG recently launched FibreForm® Brown Duo, a natural brown paperboard that complements its popular FibreForm® White Duo. This launch reflects the growing trend of using sustainable materials in premium packaging for luxury goods.
With its exceptional tearing resistance and tensile stretch, this 3D paperboard enables deep embossing that captivates consumers. It is unrivaled on retail shelves and is both food-approved and FSC-certified. Made from 100% cellulose fibers, it can also be produced with a percentage of recycled fibers upon request. KAPAG’s FibreForm® paperboards complete the FibreForm® paper range of Billerud.
Oppboga Bruk also presents tactile paperboards that cater to market demands for natural materials. Andrew Robinson, managing director, shares their latest advancements, stating, “We have recently developed uncoated boards that meet the increasing demand for natural materials in the market.”
Oppboga Robust™ Kraft is a solid unbleached sulphate board with a natural brown finish on one or both sides. Its high tear strength ensures the safety of products and brands. It runs smoothly on automated packing lines and is ideal for multipacks and heavy cartons, including luxury beverages, gift sets, and electronics. On the other end of the color spectrum is Oppboga Truecoat™ Reverse. This white board features a light surface coating for optimal print performance and provides a luxurious uncoated feel when touched.
Mr. Robinson emphasizes Oppboga’s commitment to sustainability, stating, “We have always sourced FSC-certified fibers from Scandinavian forests. Since 1950, Sweden’s wood production has tripled from 1 billion to 3 billion cubic meters.”
Another achievement worth mentioning is Europe’s leading role in paper recycling, with a rate of 71% (source: Two Sides Trend Tracker 2023). Paper stands out as one of the most recycled materials in the world (source: Cepi 2021).
