ILIP to Showcase Circular Fresh Produce Packaging at Fruit Attraction 2026 events, food and drink packaging, food and drink sustainable packaging, Food packaging Food and Beverage Business

From 6 to 8 October 2026, ILIP will exhibit at Fruit Attraction in Madrid (Stand B21, Hall 9), a major international meeting point for the fresh produce supply chain. The company will showcase its portfolio of packaging for fruit and vegetables, reinforcing its focus on circularity, efficient resource use and reliable performance.

ILIP’s approach reflects wider food and beverage industry trends, including the growing importance of sustainable materials, efficient supply chains and product protection. These priorities are becoming even more significant as the European packaging framework evolves. With the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) moving into its implementation phase, businesses across the sector are preparing for stricter requirements covering recyclability, packaging reduction and recycled content.

At the exhibition, ILIP will place particular emphasis on packaging developed for highly delicate fruit, including its AirWave range of R-PET punnets. Suitable for products such as cherry tomatoes, grapes, berries and cherries, these packs use a specially engineered base that helps absorb impacts during transportation and retail presentation. This design removes the need for micro-bubble or cellulose inserts. ILIP will also display heat-sealable R-PET punnets, as well as formats with separate lids and hinged lids, providing options for varied packing operations and international market requirements.

T2T R-PET® (tray to tray) remains central to ILIP’s sustainability strategy and demonstrates the circular economy model established within the ILPA Group. Through its vertically integrated recycling system, ILIP recovers secondary raw materials from bottles, post-consumer punnets and trays, then uses them to manufacture new R-PET food packaging. This integrated approach supports consistent quality and traceability. On average, ILIP’s R-PET packaging currently contains approximately 80% recycled material, helping reduce dependence on virgin resources while increasing the value recovered from post-consumer packaging.

Fruit Attraction will also highlight ILIP’s ability to support growers and packers with custom packaging development. Through SPRINT, the company’s specialist product development department, ILIP creates solutions tailored to the characteristics of the produce, the requirements of packing lines and the needs of individual markets. This capability connects packaging design with broader food manufacturing trends, advances in food processing technology and evolving food distribution trends.

“Fruit Attraction is an important opportunity for us to engage with an international supply chain that is undergoing significant change”, says Gianluca Tamagnini, Business Unit Manager Fresh Produce Packaging at ILIP. “For years, we have worked to combine product protection and packaging performance with reduced resource use, recyclability and the use of recycled raw materials. T2T R-PET®, together with Eco-Design and the development of solutions increasingly tailored to our customers’ needs, is a practical demonstration of this approach”.

ILIP’s sales team will welcome visitors to Fruit Attraction from 6 to 8 October 2026 in Madrid, Stand B21, Hall 9. The company’s solutions address key areas of food and drink sustainability, food and drink regulations and food and drink packaging, while supporting the product presentation, food and drink marketing and operational needs shaped by changing food and drink consumer trends and ongoing food and drink industry innovation.
