HZ Green Pulp, the inaugural licensee of PulPac in Malaysia, is enhancing its market presence for Dry Molded Fiber products through a strategic alliance with Hotpack Global. This partnership integrates HZ’s innovations in Dry Molded Fiber with Hotpack’s comprehensive foodservice packaging solutions, paving the way for new fiber-based offerings tailored to foodservice clients.

Located in Malaysia, HZ Green Pulp, a subsidiary of HZ Corporation, has embraced Dry Molded Fiber technology to create sustainable alternatives within the foodservice packaging sector. With the formation of HZP Eco Packaging—a recent joint venture with Hotpack Global—the company is expanding its market reach for Dry Molded Fiber solutions.

Hotpack Global stands as one of the leading food packaging firms in the Middle East, boasting a diverse portfolio of over 4,000 products and distributing to more than 100 countries. This partnership presents a unique combination of HZ Corporation’s Malaysian manufacturing capabilities with Hotpack’s extensive distribution network and established foothold in the foodservice packaging arena.

Through this collaboration, HZ Green Pulp aims to introduce its first Dry Molded Fiber product, the coffee lid, in conjunction with related foodservice items, including paper cups. As HZ Green Pulp continues to enhance its Dry Molded Fiber offerings, further product combinations may emerge from this innovative partnership.

“Dry Molded Fiber is crucial to our long-term vision in foodservice packaging,” states Dato’ Dr. Donald Yap, CEO of HZ Green Pulp. “By leveraging Hotpack’s extensive portfolio and customer relationships, we can position our coffee lid more effectively and provide a broader, practical solution for our customers. This strengthens our capability to deliver fiber-based options that are user-friendly and sets the stage for future applications of Dry Molded Fiber.”

“This collaboration marks a significant milestone for HZ Green Pulp and underscores their confidence in Dry Molded Fiber,” remarks Sanna Fager, Chief Commercial Officer at PulPac. “By integrating Dry Molded Fiber products with complementary foodservice packaging, HZ will facilitate a smoother transition for customers toward eco-friendly solutions. It also highlights how our licensees are increasingly stepping up to drive the technology into the marketplace.”

Developed and patented by PulPac, Dry Molded Fiber technology offers high-speed production of rigid packaging with minimal water usage and significantly reduced energy consumption compared to conventional fiber molding methods. This enables the efficient production of fiber-based packaging at scale, supporting sustainability initiatives within the food and beverage industry.
