Harboe, the Danish brewer, has collaborated with Canpack to produce special-edition cans for its seasonal Easter Beer using one of Canpack’s advanced printing technologies. As per Scandinavian tradition, brewing beer for seasonal festivals is highly popular, and the onset of spring calls for the Easter Beer (Påskeøl) in Denmark. The 5.7% Easter beer, called Påskebryg, is a golden beer with dark malts and a delicate taste of hops, and its taste is smooth with light bitterness and sweetness.
Harboe’s Easter Beer cans have subtle metallic stripes of yellow and green that represents sunshine and the new leaves of spring. The company noted that each of their brands represents a unique story about Danish origins, traditions, and history. Creating sets of special-edition cans is important for promoting storytelling and allows brands to build a closer relationship with consumers.
Working with Canpack was a natural choice for Harboe as the two companies share a creative vision on can design. Canpack’s Duomix can printing technique allowed two complementary colorways to be used for Harboe’s Easter Beer cans, alternating the green and yellow design elements inspired by Easter egg decorations. Further enhancing the celebratory Easter feel, each pack comes with mixed color pairs. Stephen McAneny, Group Commercial Officer at Canpack, explained, “Canpack’s Duomix can printing technique enables two different designs to be printed and packaged together in one production batch.”
Harboe’s new Easter beer design is claimed as “Easter decorations to indulge,” and it certainly appeals to both consumers and limited-edition collectors alike. The eye-catching can design and the delightful taste of Easter Beer is sure to whet the appetite of many.
