The London Packaging Week Innovation Awards has announced an extension for its entry deadline, now set for 11 May 2026. This additional timeframe allows brands, designers, manufacturers, and suppliers more opportunities to showcase their contributions, which are revolutionizing packaging within the food and beverage sector and beyond.

This deadline extension is a response to the outstanding volume and quality of submissions received so far, as well as the increasingly interrelated nature of innovation in packaging. Various disciplines, including material science, structural design, sustainability, and user experience, are coming together to form a cohesive field.

Demand from globally recognized brands has remained strong, with prestigious luxury names like Prada, Miu Miu, Lancôme, Dom Pérignon, and Boodles among the entries this year. These notable entrants are complemented by leading global brands such as Dove (part of Unilever), Jack Daniel’s, Lindt, Magnum Ice Cream, Sainsbury’s, Ocado Retail, Molton Brown, Wild Deodorants, Kilchoman Distillery, Refy Beauty, Hotel Chocolat, and Kraft Heinz, showcasing a wide array of innovations across beauty, beverages, food, and consumer goods. The presence of emerging brands like FOLI Club and Filter by Molly-Mae indicates a vibrant and innovative spirit among participants.

In addition to gaining recognition, participating in the Awards provides a unique opportunity for visibility among key decision-makers shaping packaging strategies in top-tier companies. This year’s judging panel consists of influential leaders from various sectors of the global packaging landscape, including representatives from Diageo, Starbucks, Carlsberg Britvic, Marks & Spencer, Burberry, Pernod Ricard, Glenmorangie, PZ Cussons, Trinny London, Boots, and Kingfisher plc, as well as experts from the British Beauty Council, Food and Drink Federation, and sustainability and packaging consultancies like The PackHub and Re-sources.

Entrants can expect their work to be judged against stringent standards encompassing technological advancements, design quality, user experience, and commercial viability. Moreover, their submissions will reach professionals influencing packaging strategies, procurement choices, and innovation pathways in leading global firms.

In categories focused on sustainability across beauty, beverages, food, consumer products, and luxury, judges will evaluate entries based on aspects like material innovation, circularity, reusability, waste reduction, carbon footprint minimization, consumer engagement, and overall industry impact. Participants are encouraged to present quantifiable metrics wherever feasible, illustrating the industry’s growing emphasis on accountability and evidence-driven design.

Christelle Anya, Community & Content Director at London Packaging Week, shared: “As packaging continues to move beyond category boundaries, the Awards increasingly reflect a wider reality: innovation is no longer isolated within sectors, but shaped by shared challenges across regulation, resources, supply chains, and shifting consumer expectations.”

She further remarked, “With the new deadline of 11 May 2026, entrants now have additional time to refine submissions, strengthen evidence, and showcase work that demonstrates both creativity and measurable impact.”

The finalists and winners will be revealed during London Packaging Week on September 16 & 17, 2026, at Excel London, where industry professionals will convene to celebrate groundbreaking contributions in luxury, beauty, food, beverages, and consumer goods sectors.
