Gat Foods, a leading provider of high-quality fruit juice concentrates, has partnered with Berry Global, a renowned manufacturer of sustainable packaging solutions, to enhance the safety and integrity of its frozen juice concentrate products. Seeking distinctive packaging options for both the business-to-business and consumer markets, Gat Foods decided to implement Berry’s innovative containers to meet their unique requirements.
To cater to the business-to-business market, where larger container sizes are essential, Gat Foods selected Berry’s 21L SuperCube container. This container not only ensures absolute freezer safety but also guarantees product protection throughout the entire supply chain. For the consumer market, Gat Foods opted for a customized version of Berry’s UniPak container, with a convenient size of 280 milliliters. This bespoke container also prioritizes product protection, guaranteeing the utmost safety for frozen fruit juice concentrates.
Miriam Vider, Gat Foods’ purchasing director, emphasized the significance of freezer safety in packaging solutions: “The freezer safety of the packaging for our frozen fruit juice concentrate is naturally extremely important. Previously, we experienced cracks, particularly in the lids and during transportation, resulting in claims and wasted produce. To address this issue, we set out to find a packaging partner capable of guaranteeing freezer safety for our frozen juice concentrates.”

Aside from freezer safety, the Berry containers have introduced other noteworthy benefits to Gat Foods’ operations. Previously, the vulnerability of the lids resulted in the need for manual sealing of each drum using a hammer, hindering automated palletizing of the large containers. However, with Berry’s SuperCube containers, Gat Foods can now automate the palletizing process, saving significant time and streamlining their operations. Additionally, the UniPak container for the consumer market enhances artwork quality through in-mould labelling, ensuring consistent colors, sharp images, and an appealing, even, and smooth surface.
