Eco-Products® is introducing new sets of lids for paper hot cups and molded fiber ovals, rectangles, and bowls as part of its environmentally friendly product line for food and drink packaging. These innovative new lids, part of the Vanguard® line, are made with renewable molded fiber and are BPI-Certified compostable. The rectangular lids have patent-pending “snap-on” corners for secure placement, while the oval and bowl lids include tabs that fold under the rim to lock the lid on. These new items are ideal for markets that require sustainable packaging due to local regulations prohibiting the use of foodservice plastic.
According to Nicole Tariku, Director of Product Development for Eco-Products, “Having access to a broad assortment of fiber-based items is proving essential for an increasing number of foodservice operators. Our plan is to continue adding items with innovative performance features that make life easier for those adjusting to new regulatory requirements.”
The hot cup lids come in 8 oz and 12-24 oz sizes, and the container lids are available in a wide range of sizes, from 24-oz bowls to 48-oz ovals, with more sizes coming in 2024. These new products are the latest additions to the Vanguard line, which includes a variety of compostable plates, bowls, clamshells, containers, and lids. Vanguard has also earned the GreenScreen Certified™ Silver designation for avoiding the use of added-PFAS and other chemicals of high concern or known regrettable substitutes.
