Earthnutz, a mission-driven UK snack brand founded by Abby Singh, has successfully launched its Peanut Protein Crisp range. Aiming to redefine snacking for health-conscious consumers, Earthnutz offers a product that is high in protein, rich in fiber, and made with clean label ingredients for those seeking a healthier food option.

In line with its sustainability goals, Abby has opted for Sonoco’s fully recyclable 95% paper-based can solution, which effectively supports both product performance and environmental initiatives. This rigid paper can includes up to 64% post-consumer recycled content and delivers excellent barrier protection to maintain crispness. It is also designed to be recycled easily through household paper waste streams across the UK.

The origins of Earthnutz trace back to a personal story. After Abby’s young son experienced a severe allergic reaction to peanuts, she enrolled him in a clinically-led program that successfully reversed his peanut allergy. Instead of avoiding peanuts altogether, the treatment introduced controlled micro-doses, progressively increasing until he could safely consume whole peanuts. However, he was resistant to eating them. This prompted Abby to embark on a mission to make peanuts more enjoyable, familiar, and tasty for him. Recognizing a gap in the market, she aimed to create a nutrient-dense snack that provided the pleasure of crisps without the usual nutritional drawbacks.

Collaborating with food specialists, Abby developed a range of peanut crisps that are packed with protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. The Peanut Protein Crisp range offers three enticing flavors: Wasabi (16g protein per pack), Salt & Pepper (15g protein per pack), and Sweet Chilli (14g protein per pack). Notably, each serving contains 5g of fiber, translating to 16% of the recommended daily allowance—approximately equal to two slices of wholemeal bread. Furthermore, Earthnutz has introduced Virgin Peanut Oil, ensuring a zero-waste production process from start to finish.

“We wanted to take something as familiar and satisfying as crisps and turn it into something you’d boast about eating,” said Abby Singh, Founder of Earthnutz. “After rejecting hundreds of flexible plastic and mixed material options, we finally discovered Sonoco’s paper can. It has enabled us to achieve both our health and sustainability goals without compromise.”

Sonoco’s recyclable paper can allows Earthnutz to align seamlessly with evolving sustainability preferences among consumers and retailers. This packaging format enhances branding visibility, preserves product quality during distribution, and reduces dependence on hard-to-recycle flexible plastics that are commonly used in the snacking industry.

“We are proud to support brands that are rethinking nutrition, transparency, and sustainability,” stated Siobhan Blinkhorn, Sonoco UK Sales Manager. “Earthnutz presents a compelling proposition in the growing functional snacking market, and we are pleased that our packaging technology contributes to Earthnutz’s mission.”

With its initial market validation phase completed in November 2025 via independent retailers, Earthnutz is now gearing up for a broader UK rollout in 2026. The company is actively engaging with health retail, specialist food channels, and national grocery partners. This launch aligns with the continued growth in the UK functional snacking segment, fueled by rising demand for nutrient-dense, high-protein, and high-fiber products. Retailers are increasingly on the lookout for mission-led brands and sustainable formats that meet both dietary and environmental expectations.
