Packaging manufacturer Coveris achieved remarkable success at the UK Packaging Awards 2025, securing four awards, including the esteemed Packaging Company of the Year title. Additionally, the Group was honored with Flexible Plastic Pack of the Year and Best New Concept Award, while Amberley Labels, its premium labeling division, claimed the Label of the Year accolade.
The UK Packaging Awards, celebrating its 20th anniversary, took place in London on Wednesday, 8th October, spotlighting remarkable accomplishments in packaging design, innovation, performance, and sustainability.
Coveris earned the title of Packaging Company of the Year due to its exemplary leadership in sustainability, innovation, operational efficiency, and corporate culture. Judges noted, “Coveris has demonstrated exceptional performance across every judging dimension – innovation, sustainability, operational investment, and people.” This recognition underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to food and drink sustainable packaging solutions.
Showcasing its expertise in recyclable flexible film packaging, Coveris was awarded Flexible Plastic Pack of the Year for its MonoFlexP PaperFeel packaging, created for Lidl’s Butcher’s sausage range, produced by Cranswick. This innovative solution replaces a complex triple laminate format with a recyclable design that features a unique tactile paper-like finish. The MonoFlexP PaperFeel not only maintains product integrity and shelf life but also enhances visual appeal for chilled meats.
Furthermore, Coveris received the Best New Concept Award for MonoFlex Thermoform PaperFeel—an innovative advancement in recyclable thermoforming packaging. Crafted from polyethylene, this packaging serves as a replacement for traditional mixed material laminates. It combines the protective qualities of plastic with the visual and tactile characteristics of paper, fulfilling the performance demands of protein-based products like sliced meats, fish, bacon, and cheese while contributing to waste reduction throughout the supply chain.
Amberley Labels distinguished itself by winning Label of the Year for its collaboration with Aureus Vita’s Fibonacci Dry Gin. This award acknowledges the exceptional design and production of a label that captures the product’s originality and premium essence. Digitally printed with crisp typography, the label features a rich, textured base and an array of embellishments, including foiling, embossing, debossing, and UV ink. This craftsmanship elevates the label’s aesthetic, aligning perfectly with the product’s bold character.
Christian Kolarik, CEO of Coveris, stated: “To receive four awards, including Packaging Company of the Year, is a proud achievement and a clear recognition of the progress we’ve made across the Coveris Group. It reflects the strength of our innovation in both paper and plastic packaging, our continued investment in people, sites and technologies, and the positive impact of our No Waste strategy. These awards are a real credit to our teams and how we work in partnership with customers to lead the packaging industry in a more sustainable and responsible way.”
Additionally, Jo Ormrod, Chief Operating Officer of Coveris’ Paper Business Unit, received high commendations in the Woman of the Year category. Jo’s 25-year career is characterized by a people-first approach, strong customer focus, and a strategic vision that drives growth and innovation within the company.
