These cups have recently received a Grade A rating for recyclability, further solidifying their position as the most sustainable hot drink cups in the market.
According to Celebration Packaging Managing Director Nick Burton, “We are thrilled to have achieved certification that our bamboo fiber cups are 100% recyclable. Since the inception of our EnviroWare® brand over 16 years ago, our goal has been to find more sustainable packaging solutions. It is crucial for us to not only consider the provenance of the raw materials but also ensure proper disposal at the end-of-life stage.”
Celebration Packaging’s EnviroWare® bamboo fiber double-wall hot drink cups are crafted from FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certified bamboo fiber, lined with water-based materials, and certified compostable (DIN EN 13432:2000-12). Through a comprehensive recyclability assessment conducted by Papercycle Ltd, the cups have received Grade A certification, verifying their recyclability in standard paper mills.
Papercycle, developed by the Confederation of Paper Industries with support from the UK’s paper-based industries, offers a reliable assessment tool to determine the recyclability of fiber-based products. This certification further enhances the credibility and sustainability of Celebration Packaging’s bamboo fiber cups.
According to Nick Burton, “Bamboo, known for its rapid growth rate of up to two feet per day, presents an ideal solution for foodservice establishments seeking sustainable alternatives. As consumers increasingly turn away from single-use plastic products due to bans and taxes, we anticipate a growing demand for our fully recyclable EnviroWare® bamboo fiber cups.”
The distinctive bamboo design and environmentally-conscious messaging on the cups serve as a reminder of its sustainability. Nick Burton affirms, “Our new bamboo cups not only feel great to the touch, but they also proudly state that they are made from sustainable resources and can be composted where facilities exist. The design features both the ‘Commercially Compostable’ and FSC® logos, with plans to include the universally recognized ‘recycle’ logo soon.”
Celebration Packaging’s range of recyclable, insulated, double-wall cups is available in 8oz, 12oz, and 16oz sizes. Complementary accessories, such as compostable domed lids made from molded fiber or CPLA, kraft coffee sleeves, and wooden drink stirrers, are also offered.
