Celebrating their 15-year partnership, supply chain experts IPP and fresh food specialists Bakkavor have signed a new contract, solidifying their commitment to sustainable wooden pallet pooling and own-label fresh prepared foods in the UK.

Since 2009, IPP and Bakkavor have worked together to efficiently transport products like breads, desserts, salads, dips, soups, ready meals, and pizzas to distribution centers for major UK supermarkets. With 37 locations across the UK, IPP ensures a steady supply of reusable pallets, ensuring Bakkavor’s products reach shelves on time and in optimal condition.

Having recently renewed their contract, the partnership is set to surpass 15 years in October, highlighting their commitment to the circular economy model. IPP’s focus on retrieving, repairing, and reusing pallets aligns with Bakkavor’s sustainability goals and reduces ’empty running’ waste in transport.

According to Darren Binns, head of logistics at Bakkavor, the partnership with IPP is crucial for their operations. Binns emphasized IPP’s reliability and attention to detail, ensuring that every product made by Bakkavor is moved on an IPP pallet with efficiency and transparency.

Shelley Pierre, commercial director at IPP, stressed the importance of a seamless customer experience and proactive collaboration to support Bakkavor’s supply chain needs. The extension of their partnership underscores IPP’s commitment to sustainable solutions that enhance Bakkavor’s operations.
