Syntegon, a leading solutions provider for the food manufacturing industry, is introducing its new LFS filling technology, which is set to be presented at interpack in Europe for the first time. The LFS is a highly flexible and modular machine suitable for filling multiple liquid and viscous food products such as sauces, dips, and salads. The technology is available in Clean and Ultra-Clean applications and can be easily adapted to meet the specific market and production requirements. The optimised electronics concept significantly reduces the machine’s energy consumption, making it a sustainable and future-proof solution.

According to Oguz Karcier, the Product Manager at Syntegon, the LFS technology is a custom-fit solution for deli products, as filling and packaging machines for dips, sauces, and salads require special requirements, particularly in process flexibility. With the tool-less system of the LFS, operators can exchange carrier plates quickly, ensuring faster time-saving format changes and higher output.

The LFS’s format-flexible design allows for pre-installing up to two different plates, ensuring a fast start of production. The machine can cover cup sizes between 60 and 160 millimetres in diameter, and food producers can fill between three and eight lanes simultaneously, depending on the format. The LFS’s SmartFill technology ensures extremely high filling accuracy and avoids product loss.

Syntegon has designed the LFS to be sustainable and future-proof. The carrier plate transport chain plays a pivotal role, lubrication occurs directly at the chain via a precise dosing and application mechanism that avoids oil overdosing, increasing the chain’s lifespan up to 20% more than comparable systems. In addition, the LFS can save up to 30% of its energy consumption thanks to a modern electronics concept.

Ampack, Syntegon’s sister company, is collaborating with Osgood Industries, a leading U.S. manufacturer of filling and sealing technology, on the LFS design. This year Ampack will celebrate its 50th anniversary, highlighting the five decades of technical expertise and comprehensive service provided to its customers, including the initial inquiry, planning, production, and extensive after-sales services.

As with all Syntegon machines, the LFS comes with service agreements that provide fixed-price maintenance management. The agreements include seven dedicated levels that help customers reduce production risks, gain predictability on service costs, and simplify complex processes enabling them to focus on their core business. Customers can enjoy peace of mind about the total cost of ownership for the lifetime of their equipment. Additionally, the Synexio cloud-based software solution collects, evaluates, and visualises machine and production data, providing operational transparency and identifying specific potential improvements.
