Earlier this month, the dairy brand received approval from Shropshire Council to redevelop its existing fruit production facility. This location currently manufactures fruit puree for various Muller products.
Having been operational for over a decade, the facility will remain part of the redevelopment. However, significant aspects such as the internal flooring and most furniture aoo fittings will be demolished to accommodate the new plans.
Today, two individuals are employed at this facility. Upon completion of the renovation, this project is expected to create eight additional full-time positions, enhancing local employment opportunities.
In its application, Muller described the current functions of the facility, stating: “[The] existing building is utilised for the handling and packaging of frozen fruit, to now be used for the production of consumable goods.” Additionally, they noted, “[The] overall site is generally used for the production, packaging and distribution of consumable goods.”
The application outlined the planned renovations. Muller proposed: “Construction of internal partitions and installation of perishable goods production machinery within an existing commercial factory building.” Furthermore, they indicated that “works required to the adjacent private road in order to provide additional external space for proposed plant. Plant and silo storage to be positioned externally to the building.”
Initially submitted to Shropshire Council on February 3, the application successfully received full planning permission for all aspects of the project.
