Minebea Intec has recently unveiled Mitus, a cutting-edge foreign object detection system designed with the highly flexible modulation feature, MiWave. With this new metal detection system, the company provides a precise and dependable inspection solution for identifying foreign objects in a vast range of applications in the food packaging industry.
MiWave, a patented inspection solution from Minebea Intec, ensures efficient and accurate detection of contaminated products of different shapes, sizes, and compositions. As a result, this helps to prevent improper rejections and separations, guaranteeing maximum product safety and operational efficiency in the production line.
Mitus can detect foreign objects made from ferrous and non-ferrous metals, stainless steel and light metals like aluminum with maximum sensitivity, thanks to MiWave’s artificially modulated transmitter waves, which then resolve and analyze the receiver spectrum intelligently.
One major advantage of Mitus is its versatility, as the inspection solution is available in most standard sizes, as well as a rectangular, round, or compact detection coil. Moreover, it can be easily integrated into existing systems and combined with other inspection solutions, such as weighing technology, and integrated into existing production lines, even in limited space.
Minebea Intec has ensured that Mitus is easy to maintain, thanks to its stainless steel construction that is pressure-jet cleaning protected. Additionally, it has smooth and self-draining surfaces, with minimal dead space and rebates throughout.
Linus Dellweg, the global product manager at Minebea Intec, said, “With Mitus, we offer a premium metal detection solution that ensures foreign objects are reliably detected, despite high and variable product effects.” Minebea Intec’s Mitus has set the standard for foreign object detection systems in the food packaging industry.
