Henllan Bakery has made a significant investment in expanding its bread roll production capacity by acquiring an additional Koenig Combiline from EPP, a leading supplier in the food manufacturing industry. This move is set to double the bakery’s output and meet the growing demand for its products.
As a family-owned craft wholesale bakery, Henllan Bakery has built a reputation for delivering high-quality bread and rolls across North-Mid Wales, Cheshire, Shropshire, and has plans for further expansion into South Wales. By adding the new Combiline to its operations, which is scheduled to be delivered in February 2024, the bakery will have the capability to produce up to 10,000 rolls per hour.
The decision to invest in the Koenig Combiline was an easy one for Henllan Bakery, as it has maintained a longstanding relationship with EPP since its initial purchase of a Koenig Combiline in 2009. Tom Moore, the production director and a fifth-generation baker, expressed his excitement about the new machine’s benefits, stating, “This new Koenig line means we can quickly double our capacity if needed. The new machine adds more reliability and efficiency, and an additional hoist hopper that helps protect our employees from the strenuous task of heavy lifting dough. Our employees are eagerly anticipating the growth and opportunities this investment will bring to our business.”
Operating from its current site in Denbigh since 1973, Henllan Bakery has grown into one of the largest employers in the town, employing 136 staff members and operating a fleet of 22 delivery vans. Its commitment to delivering fresh, high-quality baked goods has earned it a strong presence in the region, serving a wide range of businesses, from small shops to large supermarkets. With a rich family baking history dating back over 100 years, Henllan Bakery has established itself as a trusted name in the industry.
