Corporación Hijos de Rivera, a family-owned firm headquartered in Galicia, Spain, boasts an impressive lineup of beverage brands, including Estrella Galicia, 1906, Cabreiroá, Fontarel, Agua de Cuevas, Ponte de Boga, and Maeloc.

In a strategic move, the company established a new subsidiary named Estrella Galicia UK Limited. This subsidiary enables the firm to effectively distribute its complete portfolio of beverage brands in collaboration with local partners.

Estrella Galicia UK Limited commenced trading last month and is actively working alongside its exclusive distributor, Greene King.

‘Closer to our customers’

“Having our own subsidiary in a market as dynamic and with as much potential as the UK will allow us to put down roots here, something important for us here at Hijos de Rivera, bringing us closer to our customers, meaning a better knowledge of our products on their side while we gain agility in distribution,” stated Francisco Ucha, managing director of Hijos de Rivera.

Additionally, Aitor de Artaza, director of Estrella Galicia Internacional, expressed confidence in the new UK subsidiary’s ability to enhance service delivery.

“It will allow us to bring our teams close to customers on the ground, improving our service and our listening, while also driving the positioning of our brands in the British market and the rollout of investment targeting the growth of the business in this key market for our international expansion,” explained de Artaza.

Founded in 1906, Hijos de Rivera operates in over 73 countries, where it both produces and distributes an extensive range of products, including beers, mineral waters, wines, and ciders.

The firm has experienced robust growth in recent years and currently employs more than 1,800 individuals across its global operations.

Notably, the Estrella Galicia brand has seen increased prominence in the UK, significantly due to its sponsorship of the McLaren Formula 1 Team.
