Bühler and Ever After Foods (EAF) have initiated a groundbreaking partnership in cultivated meat aimed at enhancing food manufacturing processes globally for the effective large-scale production of cultured meat.

Through this collaboration, Bühler and Ever After Foods will introduce a commercial-scale cultured meat production system designed to operate at ten times lower scale than current technology allows, significantly improving food manufacturing efficiencies.

Bühler is dedicated to developing innovative equipment that not only enables market-ready but also sustainable, healthy, and affordable cellular products. These advancements are crucial in addressing the evolving complexities of food systems, mitigating environmental impact, and enhancing food security. On the other hand, Ever After Foods specializes in the technology needed to create commercial-scale production systems tailored to the cultivated meat sector’s requirements.

“The global food chain faces significant challenges if we are to successfully and sustainably feed our growing population. How we produce and consume protein will continue to change, and requires a transition of our protein system to deliver this. Powering cultivated meat production at scale with a patented production system, Ever After Foods will help the food industry keep pace with the protein demands of a growing global population,” noted Ian Roberts, CTO at Bühler.

In line with its commitment to ushering in a new era of scalability and sustainability in food manufacturing, Ever After Foods collaborates closely with selected cultivated meat companies and leading figures in the food industry to fast-track the global deployment of its proprietary edible packed-bed (EPB) technology platform. This partnership with Bühler will facilitate dedicated support for scalable production solutions tailored for the sector.

“The cultivated meat industry must move beyond relying on pharma-based technologies and adopt solutions specifically designed for food production,” said Eyal Rosenthal, CEO of Ever After Foods. “Our strategic collaboration with Bühler, a global leader in food equipment, is a critical step toward delivering scalable and efficient technologies that empower cultivated meat producers and food companies to bring their products to market. Together, we are driving the development of tailored solutions to sustainably scale cultivated meat production.”

Collaborating with Ever After Foods enables cultivated meat producers to reduce production costs by over 90% while achieving remarkable production efficiency. Moreover, Ever After Foods’ platform offers essential biological benefits, including heightened nutritional value and enhanced flavor.

The company has successfully showcased its technology in collaboration with industry partners, ensuring the natural production of muscle and fat tissues from beef, chicken, duck, and fish cells. This innovation replicates the taste, texture, and overall experience of conventional animal-derived meat. Ever After Foods delivers the production platform that partners require to scale and achieve high-yield cultivated meat production.
