Arla Foods Ingredients will present three personalised clear shake concepts at SupplySide Global, taking place in Las Vegas from 28–30 October. The launch reflects major food and beverage industry trends, including demand for targeted nutrition, convenient formats and differentiated sports nutrition products.

The concepts show how brands can move beyond “one-size-fits-all” protein shakes by developing formulations for specific training objectives, exercise occasions and active lifestyles. They also respond to food and drink consumer trends that are driving interest in clear protein beverages as a lighter, fruit-forward and refreshing alternative to conventional milk-based shakes.

Each concept combines high-quality Lacprodan whey proteins with carefully selected functional ingredients. While all three address post-exercise recovery, they are designed to support different performance priorities:

BUILD: The Resistance Shake uses Lacprodan ISO.RefreshShake with creatine to support strength- and power-oriented activities, including weightlifting, resistance training and CrossFit.

SUSTAIN: The Endurance Shake combines Lacprodan Pro2O with carbohydrates and electrolytes for consumers participating in running, cycling and other endurance sports.

MOVE: The Mobility Shake features Lacprodan ISO.WaterShake and collagen for activities centred on mobility and flexibility, such as yoga, Pilates, gymnastics and dance.

Peter Schouw Andersen, senior director, performance nutrition at Arla Foods Ingredients, said: “These exciting new personalised clear shake concepts demonstrate how our clear whey protein isolates can help brands tailor great-tasting solutions to different consumer needs and performance goals. Targeting a wide range of sports nutrition users, from dedicated athletes to everyday active consumers, they deliver high-quality protein and functional benefits in an easy-to-use, convenient product experience. From strength and power to endurance and hydration or mobility and flexibility, the concepts demonstrate the versatility of clear whey protein as a foundation for personalised sports nutrition. With dual benefits trending in the sports nutrition space, our solutions open up opportunities for premium, benefits-driven innovation with clear protein shakes.”

The showcase also illustrates how food and drink industry innovation is influencing product development across food manufacturing trends, food processing technology and food and drink marketing. As brands respond to evolving food and drink sustainability priorities, food and drink regulations, food distribution trends and advances in food and drink packaging, functional products must deliver convenience, appeal and reliable performance throughout their lifecycle.

Visitors to SupplySide Global can sample the personalised shake range at Booth #2945, together with three further concepts from Arla Foods Ingredients.

Aerated milk protein bar: AirBar introduces a light, airy texture to the protein bar category, combining nutritional value with an indulgent eating experience. The product uses Nutrilac PB-8420 to provide consistent aeration and texture stability during processing and throughout shelf life.

High-protein water-based shot: Developed as a convenient GLP-1 companion nutrition format, this compact shot is intended for consumers experiencing reduced appetite. It contains 21g of protein per 100ml through the use of Lacprodan BLG-100, while remaining fat-free, sugar-free and low in lactose. The formulation is designed to offer a pleasant taste, low astringency and stable ambient shelf life.

Protein soda: This sparkling beverage combines the refreshment and familiarity of soft drinks with high-quality whey protein isolate. Made with Lacprodan Pro2O, it enables clear, low-viscosity protein sodas with clean taste, limited astringency and pronounced flavour. The ingredient supports stable, fruity and functional soft drinks with added protein.
