Tulkoff Foods snaps up Celtrade Canada Food and Beverage Business

US-based sauces and dressings producer Tulkoff Foods has expanded its capabilities with the acquisition of Celtrade Canada, a move aimed at accelerating its culinary innovation strategy.

Celtrade, headquartered in Toronto, operates as a private-label specialist in sauces and condiments and forms part of US group Stir Foods.

The company supplies a wide range of products — including cooking sauces, infused oils, vinegars, mayonnaise-style spreads, gourmet condiments and salad dressings — across retail, foodservice and industrial markets.

Baltimore-based Tulkoff Foods, which is backed by private equity, manufactures sauces, dips and dressings for both foodservice operators and consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands.

In announcing the deal, Tulkoff described the acquisition as “strategic”, noting that it enhances the combined group’s ability to serve customers with increased speed, creativity and operational reliability.

Following completion, the enlarged business will operate manufacturing sites across both the US and Canada, strengthening its North American production footprint.

Celtrade’s robust, innovation-focused R&D team adds impressive culinary horsepower to Tulkoff’s strong foundation, creating an industry leading, world class, custom solution-oriented enterprise with a deeply embedded culture of discovery,” the company stated.

Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Tulkoff, which was acquired by investment firm Graham Partners in 2024, also highlighted that the deal will broaden its packaging capabilities, enabling it to offer formats such as tubs, sachets and dip cups.

Commenting on the acquisition, Tulkoff Foods CEO Mike Kagan said: “Celtrade has built an exceptional reputation for quality and innovation and together, we’ll deliver even more value to our customers by combining expertise, expanding product offerings, and enhancing our manufacturing footprint.”

Celtrade president Chris Bouchard added: “This move is highly complementary in the capabilities we can bring to our collective customer base.

It gives our customers more- more capacity, more capability, more pack size options and more choice.”
