A US investment firm has acquired Dalziel Ingredients, a prominent manufacturer and distributor based in Scotland, known for its savoury flavours, seasonings, meat solutions, and food industry essentials within the UK market.

Located in Bellshill, near Glasgow, Dalziel Ingredients provides tailored solutions to a diverse clientele, including major industrial food producers, retail butchers, and foodservice organizations.

The company boasts four accredited manufacturing plants and an extensive distribution network throughout the UK. Additionally, Dalziel houses a specialized new product development (NPD) center at its Gateshead location, having invested £1 million in enhancements to the facility in 2021.

Peak Rock stated that the acquisition was driven by Dalziel’s strong industry reputation, characterized by its extensive range of “high-quality products,” exceptional customer service, and innovative approach.

Stuart Dalziel, CEO of Dalziel, remarked, “For generations, our families have been proud to serve our industrial partners, retail butchery customers, and local communities.” He added, “The investment by Peak Rock is another huge step in our development and we look forward to continuing to build on our reputation and innovation capabilities to support our customers and unlock new growth opportunities, both organically and via M&A.”

Texas-based Peak Rock finalized the acquisition in collaboration with the Dalziel, Darroch, and Dickens families, who currently own the company, alongside its existing management team.

Alex Dabbous, Managing Director of Peak Rock Capital Europe, stated, “Dalziel represents an exciting opportunity for us to invest in a leading provider of ingredient solutions and other products to the growing protein and foodservice end markets. We are excited to partner with the Dalziel, Darroch and Dickens families, as well as the company’s talented management team, to support Dalziel’s growth through geographic and customer expansion, product innovation and add-on acquisitions.”
