An Experienced Executive

Philipp Navratil is recognized as a highly capable executive. As his current company describes him, he is known for his “dynamic presence” and employs a “collaborative, inclusive management style.”

A citizen of both Switzerland and Austria, he speaks English, German, Spanish, and Italian fluently, and is also proficient in French. His career journey at Nestlé encompasses a truly global experience.

Beginning his career at Nestlé in 2001 as an internal auditor, it didn’t take long for him to manage global company projects.

Navratil’s career took off in Central America, overseeing regional marketing of milk powders in Panama and serving as the country manager in Honduras, where he was responsible for operations and P&L.

A Focused Career in Coffee and Beverages

Over the years, he developed a specialization in coffee and beverages. Since 2013, he has led the coffee and beverage sector in Mexico, reinforcing the Nescafé brand’s presence.

In 2020, he took charge of the Coffee Strategic Business Unit, managing global strategy and innovation for both Nescafé and Starbucks brands.

His impressive trajectory peaked when he became CEO of Nespresso, prior to his appointment to Nestlé’s executive board in January 2025.

Navratil’s beverage expertise is critical as Nestlé navigates multiple pressures. For instance, the ongoing “watergate” scandal poses significant challenges, with the company’s water division under investigation for allegations of illegal filtration. Additionally, surging international coffee prices are tightening margins and compelling Nestlé to implement pricing strategies.

Moreover, Nestlé confronts challenges such as sluggish sales, historically high cocoa prices, and a decline in share price under both Freixe and his predecessor, Mark Schneider.
