Ben Duncan, managing director of Nestlé Food UK and Ireland

Food manufacturer Nestlé has named Ben Duncan as the new managing director for Food UK and Ireland, joining its senior leadership team.

Duncan assumed his position on Monday, April 13th, and will direct operations in the UK and Ireland, managing a diverse brand portfolio that includes Maggi and Carnation.

His professional journey began in market research, and in 2004, he joined Nestlé’s Purina pet care division. Over the last twenty years, Duncan has occupied various high-level commercial positions, both in the UK and internationally.

Initially serving as category manager in the UK, he transitioned to the Netherlands in 2011 to head sales and marketing for Purina’s specialized channel. Returning to the UK in 2015, he took on a significant role overseeing Purina’s specialist and e-commerce branches before, in 2020, expanding his responsibilities to encompass strategic revenue management, category management, and shopper marketing for Purina in Northern Europe. Most recently, Duncan was the head of marketing for Purina’s region, starting in January 2024.

Reflecting on his new role, Duncan stated: “I’m really pleased to be stepping into the role of managing director and joining the brilliant team in our food business.”

He added, “Our trusted brands play a key role in everyday meals for families across the UK and Ireland, and I’m excited to build on that trust and put consumers at the centre of everything we do.”
