Nespresso has teamed up with Royal Mail to make coffee capsule recycling more accessible to customers across the UK. With a free doorstep collection service available through Royal Mail’s returns service, customers can conveniently recycle their used capsules. Alternatively, they can drop them off at any of the 14,000+ Royal Mail drop-off locations, including Royal Mail Customer Service Points and Post Offices.

According to research commissioned by Nespresso, 91% of Brits claim to frequently recycle, but many find the process confusing (42%) and difficult (32%). To address these concerns, Nespresso CEO Anna Lundstrom explained that the partnership with Royal Mail aims to bring recycling to the forefront of communities, making it convenient, simple, and sustainable. She emphasized the importance of working with a partner like Royal Mail, which not only has a significant presence across the UK but also boasts the lowest emissions per parcel.

Royal Mail’s chief commercial officer, Nick Landon, expressed the company’s delight to collaborate with Nespresso in support of coffee capsule recycling. Leveraging the familiarity of the local posties, the collection service offers the added convenience of having capsules picked up at the same time as mail delivery.

The partnership between Nespresso and Royal Mail is a significant step towards addressing food and drink sustainability, sustainable packaging, and food and drink marketing. By prioritizing convenience and environmental responsibility, the collaboration reflects a growing consumer trend towards more environmentally friendly practices in the food and drink industry.
